Planted this ruella just over a year ago. It came in a 5-gallon container. In the last year it has exploded into the bush above. The blooms last for the morning then they drop to the ground. A fresh group of blooms is ready to take their place each morning. The blooms are bell-shaped and make a perfect feeding spot for hummingbirds and insects. I sat quietly and watched a hummingbird move from bloom to bloom through the whole bush. When finished, the hummingbird found a branch on the bush and perched for a few minutes. First time I had ever seen a hummingbird be still.
